Worship & Music

 O come, let us worship and bow down, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker!  Psalm 95

          Make a joyful noise to the Lord all the earth.  Worship the Lord with gladness;
                                come into His presence with singing!  Psalm 100

It is out of hearts of worship that Presbyterians accomplish God’s will in creation.  We understand that our first call as servants of the kingdom is to assemble in God’s presence to worship, giving thanks and praise for all that God has done for us.  When we first give our time, our energy and our heartfelt attention to worshiping God, everything else we do in the name of Christ flows out of this reverent attitude.  God precedes us into our corporate worship, surrounds our faithful community, dwells within us and then leads us back out into the world to proclaim and fulfill the good news in every life we encounter.  Everything we do at Worthington Presbyterian Church in the way of education, mission, fellowship, and ministries of outreach, compassion and love happens because we have hearts, minds and souls attuned to the worship of God.   For these reasons we take our worship life as a community of faith seriously.  It is in the center of all we do--the catalyst for our response to the call of Christ to go into all the world proclaiming his good news.  The structure of our worship is called liturgy, and liturgy literally means “the work of the people.”  When we worship, it involves the planning and commitment of many members and staff at WPC, as we all strive to make sure that what we do in worship not only pleases God, but builds up the Body of Christ in this place.  We invite you to explore the many facets of worship and see where God is calling you to be part of the worship and work of Worthington Presbyterian Church.
